Paula Apple 'Nanny' Thomas, age 66, of Lewisville, passed away Saturday,
April 21, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born December 10, 1940, in Dardenelle, Arkansas, to Paul Edward and Edyth Estelle Tillman Apple. Nanny was a member of QuiltingFriends for 12 years, a scrapbooker with the 'Rowdy Girls', and was very active in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Gabriel and husband, Greg, of Lewisville; son, Scott Nobles and wife, Mariel, of Bailey, Colorado; grandchildren, Shannon Bogan and husband, Brendan, Kelly Higgins, Alexandria Gabriel, all of Lewisville, Michael and Jonathan Hancock of Bailey, Colorado; great-granddaughter Kaleigh Bogan; brothers, Charles Apple and wife, Annelle, and children Leanne and Chuck, of Euless, Larry Apple and wife, Susan, of Argyle, and Gary Apple and wife, Sondra, and son, Logan, of Rhome, Texas; extended family Johnna Lunsford; and her furbabies, cats Scooter and Scamper. Nanny was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brandi Higgins, in 1999.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery. Reverend Bennie Grissom will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Faith Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements.
