Patrick Carey died Friday, January 12, 2007, at home with his wife, Sara. The son of Thomas Carey and Matilda Loubert Carey, Pat was born August 3, 1927 in Duluth, MN. Pat married Sara Noble in 1961.
Pat and Sara were blessed with two wonderful children, Patrick and Jennifer. Later, they were also blessed with the addition of son-in-law, Kevin Feagins and daughter-in-law Amber Carey and grandchildren Peyton, Emma, and Autumn.
At the age of fourteen, Pat went off to work as a telegrapher for the railroads, relaying messages to keep people together during the war. He joined the U.S. Army at the close of WWII and was stationed in Germany.
Pat retired from General Electric Company after 35 years. Throughout his retirement he pursued his love of travel, worked as a groundskeeper at a golf course, volunteered as an ambassador at DFW airport, worked at FEMA, and involved himself with the Morse Telegraph Club.
Pat was a member of the Visiting Angels Ministry of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. During his visits, Pat brightened others spirits with his intellect, wit, humor and care shared the rosary with others who loved as he did.
The family wishes to thank all who cared for Pat and for them recently and throughout the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Denton City County Day School, Denton Adult Daycare, Denton Christian Preschool, Family Health Care, Inc., Mission Council of ICC, Ann's Haven Hospice, or Sons of Thunder Motorcycle Ministry.
Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The rosary service will be 6:00 PM Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the Chapel at Immaculate Conception. A funeral mass to celebrate Pat's life will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2255 North Bonnie Brae, Denton, TX on Thursday 18, at 2:30 PM.
