Patricia "Patty" Louise Sumrall, 91, of Denton, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 in her home in Denton surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Sumrall was born on July 30, 1925 in Pueblo, CO to Robert V. and Vivienne (Jones) Ross. She was married to Melvin "Mel" L. Sumrall on August 25, 1946 in Murrysville, PA. She earned her Master's Degree in Education and taught for many years. She was a member of Denton Bible Church. Patty faithfully served the Lord alongside Mel, teaching God's Word to women in more than fifty countries around the world.
Patty is survived by her husband, Mel Sumrall of Denton; daughters, Susan Lynn Sumrall of Denton; Karen J. Clopton of Liberty City, Laura P. Villegas of Dallas; son, Jerry R. Sumrall of Garland; brother, Robert Ross of Marietta, GA; eight grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, June 25, 2017 in the Chapel of Denton Bible Church. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 26, 2017 in the main sanctuary at Denton Bible Church, 2300 E. University Dr., Denton. Rev. Tom Nelson and Rev. John Brown will officiate the service.
