Oscar Wolters, 90, life long resident of Lewisville, died Wednesday, August 2nd at his son's home in Flower Mound. Oscar was born on May 20, 1916 on his family's farm in Southern Denton County. He was the second of four children born to John William and Martha Ihnfeldt Wolters. Oscar married Lorene Frady on October 16, 1941 in Denton. They were married for 56 years when Lorene was killed in car accident in May 23, 1998. Oscar is survived by one son – David and his wife, Sheryne of Flower Mound; four grandchildren – David, Jr. and wife, Cindy of Grand Prairie, Rachel and her husband, Alex of Little Elm, Laura and husband, Craig of Centennial, Colorado and Michele "Shelle" of Dallas; six great grandchildren, Brittney, Tabitha and Matilda of Little Elm, Ashley and Jake of Centennial, Colorado and Savannah of Grand Prairie; sister, Olga Korsgard of Duncan, Oklahoma; niece, Mary Kay Huddleston of Argyle and nephew, Ronald Korsgard of Duncan, Oklahoma.
Oscar was preceded in death by brothers, Edgar and Harry Wolters. Oscar served in the United States Army during World War II. After returning from Europe, he worked for and retired from Vought Aircraft in Grand Prairie. He was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewisville. Oscar had a zest for life and a twinkle in his eye. He loved his family and he loved playing games, especially dominoes and bingo at the Lewisville Senior Citizens Center. His quest to live until "100" was interrupted by congestive heart failure but he had a full and happy life and was surrounded by a family that loved him and will miss him dearly. Visitation will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville on Thursday, August 3, 2006 from 7-8:30p.m. with services at the First Presbyterian Church on Friday at 2p.m. Interment will follow in the Old Hall Cemetery.
