Opal Lee Juanita Flores age 78 of Denton passed away Friday July 31, 2009 in Collinsville, Texas. She was born on August 28, 1930 in Grand Saline, Texas to Walter Berthal and Adene (Lovett) Busby.

Opal and family moved to Denton in1959. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was "Nana" to all. She was a very positive influence in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She had a knack for applying a band aid to a scraped knee or a wounded heart. Opal lived with a sense of humor that always found a way to liven up a gathering. One of her greatest passions was bowling, and the friendships formed through the years of bowling gave her much joy. She held many positions in Denton Women's Bowling Association, and enjoyed several league championships. In time her team was referred to as "the little old ladies". She was honored as a Lifetime Member of DWBA. Opal was as an active Pee Wee and Little League mother and following her players into the older leagues. Her undying love and support, through the years, will be the memories that will sustain her family as she goes on her journey to a haven of escape from the ravages of cancer that claimed her life.

She is survived by her husband Luis of Denton. Daughters Paulette Burson of Collinsville, Texas. Sanya Belcher of  Krum, Texas. Sons  Dennis Stone of Denton. Marshall Flores of Marlin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Flores,  brother J.B. Busby and her parents. Also one great grandchild.

The Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday 5, 2009 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. Visitation will be 7 to 8 pm Tuesday August 4, 2009 at the Funeral Home.
