Olive (Wands) Stout-Mackin, 92, passed away on July 6, 2012 in Denton, TX. She was born in Rotterdam, NY, November 17, 1919 to Deane L. and B. May Wands. Olive graduated from Waterloo High School in NY and worked over 25 years at Eastman Kodak Co. She was married to the late Max Floyd Stout for 43 years and spent the majority of her life in Webster, NY. After his death in 1982, she later married Richard J. Mackin in 1991 and moved to Palm Bay, FL where she lived for 17 years. Following the death of Richard in 2008, she moved to Denton, TX where she spent the remainder of her life near her daughter and grandchildren.
Olive enjoyed a long, good life, love of family and friends, traveling, hobbies, Methodist and Presbyterian Church groups, Garden Club, Red Hat Club, and volunteer work. She is survived by her brother, Richard L. Wands of Rochester, NY; daughter, Dawn S. Walker of Denton, TX; son, Edward D. Stout (Lisa) of Corvallis, OR; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Wands; sister, Marilyn Warren; and son-in-law, Shel Walker.
A graveside memorial will be held at Webster Union Cemetery on September 2, 2012 at 1:00 PM. If desired, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
