Obituary

Okemah Lee Parsons, 91, of Carrollton, passed away Monday, June 1st, 2009.  Okemah (Mom to everyone she met) was born July 31, 1917 in Greenfield, Oklahoma to John Alexander Barney and Elsie Brann.  She spent 15 years working for John Deer Spreader and 21 years working as a childcare worker in her church nursery and daycare.  Her children, grandchildren, family and church were her life!  She loved everyone she met and everyone loved her.  Mom is survived by her daughter, Vickie Penwell and her husband, Joe of Lewisville; son, John W. Carpenter and his wife, Helen of Lewisville and Jim Parsons and his wife, Debbie of Alabama; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Ralph E. Carpenter, 1963; second husband, James Arthur Parsons, 1975 and her son, Donald Earl Carpenter in 1964.  Visitation will be held from 2pm to 4pm, Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Christian Life Assembly Church.  The funeral service will be held at 7pm, Thursday evening, June 4th at the church.  Her ashes will be interred next to her first husband, Ralph in Illinois at a later date.
