Norma Jean Sweatman Brazeal

Norma Jean Sweatman Brazeal, 74, of Denton, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Medical City Hospital in Denton with her loving family and dear friend Steven Don Allen surrounding her bedside.

Mrs. Brazeal was born on October 30, 1948 in Denton to Thomas Marvin and Mary Louise Sweatman (Reynolds). She graduated from Denton High School. She married the love of her life Walter Lee Brazeal on February 19, 1971 in Denton.

Norma owned and operated Crickette's Flowers and Gifts from 1986 until her retirement in 2019. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was member of First Baptist Church in Denton.

Norma is survived by her husband, Walt Brazeal of Denton; daughters, Shelli Renea and her husband Tim of Arkansas, Shelia Roxanne Brazeal Bowles and her husband Steven of Denton; grandchildren, Monica Mary Louise Gibson Brazeal; Piper Morgan Bowles McPeek, Victoria Grace Mitchell, Elijah Emerald Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Eleanor Mae McPeek, Elaina Ruth McPeek, Cassandra Nancy McPeek, Lyris Mitchell; great-nephew Samuel Thomas, and several loving nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Martha Ann Sweatman Barber and brother, Thomas Joseph Sweatman and sister-in-law Cindy Guest Sweatman.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. Her celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 16, 2023 at First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone Street, Denton, TX. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and sincere appreciation for all of the prayers, text messages, phone calls, flowers and visits from her friends and family during her two-week hospital stay.
