Nellie Reynolds Aday Morrow, 100, of Denton, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at her home. She was born Feb. 5, 1913 in Roanoke, TX to Samuel Lafayette and Cynthia Ann (Smith) Reynolds. She attended Denton High School and Texas Woman's University. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was married to John Luther Aday on Dec. 5, 1932 in Durant, OK and he died July 27, 1961. She later married Hubert A. Morrow in 1969, in Denton, who died in 2000.
Nellie retired from a long and illustrious career at Ling Temco Vaught Corporation where she worked as an aircraft assembler, and held a "perfect attendance" record. She lived through two World Wars and the Great Depression, all while working to provide a safe home for her loving family. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday, surrounded by her extended family and friends. She achieved this landmark milestone in large part due to her healthy lifestyle, commitment to family, high personal ideals and unwavering trust in God.
Mrs. Morrow is survived by son James Clifford Aday of Coppell and his wife Sue; four daughters, Imogene Aday Kaiser of Carrollton, Betty Aday Thompson and husband Ben of Richardson, Evelyn Aday Brewer of Denton, and Shirley Aday Kyle of McKinney; and daughter-in-law Virginia Aday of Whitesboro. She is also survived by her loving sister Georgia F. Sweatman of Denton, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Calvin Luther Aday.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and a memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, with Pastor Sam Redfearn officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
