Nancy Christine George Douglas, wife, mother, grandmother, artist. Born August 5, 1936, Longview, TX; longtime resident of Tyler, TX; daughter to George Alexander George and Dona Hoss George. Survived by her sister, Betty George Craig; sister to Jack Hoss George and Robert George Married to Frank Ples Jr. November 17, 1956. Graduate of TWU BS in Journalism class of 1958 and East Texas State University Commerce, with a Masters in Art History.
Children: Frank P Douglas Ill of Rockwall, George Anne Douglas, deceased, Laura Douglas Schofield of Tyler and Sara Douglas of Tyler; 4 grandchildren, Christopher Douglas, Russell Drew Phelps, Frank and Max Douglas.
She was a long time member of NETFAA (NorthEast Texas Fine Art Alliance) Mineola League of the Arts, also a member of Heart of Tyler, Van Zandt Art League and the Galveston Art League.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 28, 2014 at Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton, TX.
