IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nadine Marie
Wellner
July 21, 1949 – March 24, 2025
Nadine "Nikki" Marie Wellner of Shady Shores, TX passed away peacefully in hospice care on March 24th, 2025. Nikki was born July 21st, 1949, in Oklahoma City, OK to Mary Maher and Burt Olshan. Her mother later remarried Vaughn James McCarty who adopted Nikki and her siblings. Nikki was lucky to have met the love of her life when she was 17. They met in 1967 dated and married within six months on June 10th and raised a beautiful family filled with so much love over the next 57 years.
Nikki worked in commercial insurance for over 20 years while managing a family and husband who served in the United States Marine Corps. She was the glue to the family and made sure everyone was taken care of. During that time Nikki was able to do some traveling with her kids and husband making cherished memories for them all. Once Jerry retired from the military they moved to Texas where Nikki took a job being a school bus driver for the school district. She enjoyed that job immensely as we all know she loved children and what a blessing it was, as it led her to find the home on the lake her and Jerry so loved. Nikki later decided it was time to retire and stay home with Jerry enjoying retirement together.
Anyone that Nikki met became family. She didn't know a stranger and she would give the shirt off her back even if it left her with nothing. Nikki was strong, beautiful, caring, and smart. She had one of the most loving and giving hearts you would ever cross and if you were so lucky to have had her in your life, you knew what a blessing she was. Nikki was strong in her faith and was a God-fearing woman. She looked to God in all decisions seeking his guidance and strength, while thanking him for all she was given. Nikki respected and loved her husband, adored her children and grandchildren, loved God, and was a pillar in her families lives.
Nikki is survived by her five children; Pamela Flather and husband Arnold Flather of San Antonio, TX; Anthony Wellner of Hutto, TX; Lynn Hunt and husband Ron Hunt of Orange, CA; Jerry Wellner of Houston, TX; and Candice Wellner of Shady Shores, TX.
