Muriel Yvonne Peck of Denton, Texas went to sleep, waiting for her Lord at the age of 85 on September 5, 2016 after a battle with Leukemia. Muriel was born on January 9, 1931 in Bauer, Michigan to John Herbert and Euphemia Blanch Parrish. On March 13, 1955 Muriel married George Kenneth Peck who she has enjoyed the adventure of life with for the last 62 years. She graduated with her high school diploma from Hudsonville High in 1950 and went on for further education to become an accomplished administrative assistant, patient accounts manager and most importantly a great wife, mother, home maker. Muriel was raised on a farm in Michigan, built a home and started a family in Indiana, supported George's education in Southern California, started a family business in the mountains of Southern California, followed George's career to Illinois, retired to the mountains of Colorado and got close to her children by moving to Denton, Texas. She has loved music and has played the piano and sung for churches for the last 60 years. Her love for people and her desire to serve and to bring joy to everyone has been delivered via fantastic food, conversation and loving service. She has been a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church since her birth and has dedicated her life to Jesus Christ and to serving those who He has brought to her. If you asked Muriel her greatest achievement it would be marrying George Peck and secondly raising and loving her children, Mary Kachler and Greg Peck. Muriel is Survived by her Husband George Kenneth Peck, her Daughter and Son-in-law Mary and George Kachler, her Son and Daughter-in-law Greg and Sherri Peck; her Grandchildren: Brandon Elia, Kenny Elia, Angelica Baker, Timothy Elia, Samantha Kachler, Sydney Peck, and Garrett Peck; Great-grandchildren: Skyler Elia, Madison Elia, Ray Elia, Miles Elia, Emerson Baker, Rocky Baker. Her Brother Elton Parrish; Her dog Ivan; And her many Friends. A visitation will be this Friday Sept. 9th, 6 to 8 pm at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locusts St., Denton, TX. A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday Sept. 10th, at 3 pm at Lewisville Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1471 W. Corporate Drive, Lewisville, TX 75067 Service will be officiated by Pastor Leroy Kim. Muriel will be buried in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery; this service will take place Sept. 12, 2016 at 11:30am.
