Mozelle Marie Slack, 88, of Denton, died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.

Mrs. Slack was born on August 3, 1932 in Aubrey, TX to Hoyt Martin and Geneva Juanita (Batterton) Johnson. She was married to William "Bill" Slack on July 9, 1948 in Denton. She worked for many years as a nurse and also taught public school.

Mozelle is survived by her daughter, Susanna Devearux of Gainesville; sister, Wanda Sprayberry of Denton; brothers, Eddy Johnson of Sherman, Don Johnson of Denton; grandchildren, William Gerald Eastman of Gainesville, Robert Edward Eastman of Henderson, Melissia Davis of Kerens; great-grandchildren, Kayla Eastman, Leah Eastman, Summer Eastman, Christian Eastman, Nevaeh Eastman, Kimberly Archa; eight great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 5, 2021 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Central Baptist Church, 2221 N. Carroll Blvd., Denton. Interment will follow at Belew Cemetery, Aubrey.
