Morris (Mo) Skidmore, age 65 of Lewisville, TX, passed from this life into the loving arms of his Lord, March 21, 2008. Mo was born May 1, 1942 in Malden, MO to Royal and Gertrude Skidmore. He married Janice Brumbaugh on January 14, 1961 in Bellflower, CA.
Mo was a connoisseur of the outdoors. When his children were younger, he always made time to take them camping, hunting or fishing, and as long as he was in God's creation, he was at his happiest. In most recent years, he spent a majority of his free time hunting and fishing with close friends and family and loved to show off his trophies.
Known for his perpetual smile, and always optimistic outlook, Mo never met a stranger and everyone who knew him would testify to his caring nature and altruism toward others. A selfless giver, and sincere friend, he took great pride in knowing that he could and would do anything to help those who would ask of his time.
Although Mo treasured his friends and the great outdoors, his family was undeniably his greatest love, and such love was returned in abundance. This admiration could be found in his five granddaughters, who loved every moment of time they spent with him, and in his immediate family and friends, who have shared countless memories, stories, and experiences with him throughout the years.
Mo is survived by two sons, Jay Skidmore and wife Jacky and their daughters Lindsay, Beth and Kathleen and Darren Skidmore and wife Cheryl and their daughters Katherine and Lauren all of Lewisville; sisters Josephine Snider of Anderson, IN and Ruby Cottrell and husband Bob of Shawnee, OK; brother Alan Skidmore and wife Sandy of Risco, MO as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Janice; his parents Royal and Gertrude and a sister, Mary Gray.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00p.m., Monday, March 24, 2008 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Lewisville Bible Church with Reverend Ken Rogers officiating.
