Monte D. Cooper, 70, of Ponder, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Mr. Cooper was born on February 12, 1948 in Crosbyton, TX to Amon Udell and Jimmie Dean (Offield) Cooper. He was a Baptist and was an automotive mechanic most of his life. He retired from the Ponder ISD. He was a woodworker and a leatherworker.
He is survived by his mother Jimmie Dean (Offield) Hamm and her husband, Gordon Hamm; daughters, Amy Clounch and her husband Joshua of Savannah, Abigail Myers and her husband Scott of Colbert, WA; sons, Rob Cooper and his wife Julie of Whitesboro, Gary Cooper of Fort Worth, Kevin Cooper and his wife Janey of Sunset; sister, Brenda Jones and her husband Bob of Kirksville, MO; grandchildren, Jake, Presley, Asher, Oliver, Alexander, Ryle.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, June 4, 2018 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Jackson Cemetery, Krum. Pastor Tim Robinson will officiate the service.
