IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Miriam Pye
Rourk
April 4, 1930 – March 26, 2025
Miriam Pye Rourk, of Denton, TX, went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2025 at the age of 94, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 4, 1930 in Walterboro, SC, the daughter of the late Henry Otis Pye and Mollie Varn Pye.
In her final years, Miriam lived at Selah Ridge, a residential care home in Denton, TX under the loving care of Rhonda and Ernest Evans. Miriam's family extends their deepest gratitude and is forever grateful for the compassionate loving care she received.
Miriam was a graduate of Hanahan High School and retired from F. W. Woolworth Co. after 40 years as a buyer. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother. Miriam faithfully attended Portside Baptist Church, where she served her circle group as secretary and enjoyed meeting the needs of her church. She was a gifted and avid gardener where everything she touched flourished. In cooking, she was the best--no one could get enough of her delicious macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese or peach cobbler. Miriam was an active walker, often seen along Park Circle with friends.
In honoring Miriam's wishes, we invite you to join us in celebrating the many joyful memories of her life. Her legacy will live on through the values she instilled in our family. Miriam's faith and love for our Lord, her love of service to others, and an unwavering love for her family will continue to inspire all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Miriam was greeted in heaven by her late husbands; William A Rourk and Charles L Smith Jr., an infant child; Mark Charles Smith, stepson, William F. Rourk, and her siblings; Marshall R Pye, Henry Otis Pye Jr., Peter Milnor Pye Sr., Rev Jim B Pye, and Ida P Nowland.
