Obituary

Miles Austin Miller, age 8, passed away on August 8, 2014, with his father, Michael Joseph Miller, mother, LeAnn Kaye, and sister, Zoey Alexa Miller.
He was born May 14, 2006, in Denton, Texas, to Michael and LeAnn Miller. He attended Hilltop Elementary where he was entering into the second grade.
Miles, along with his family, was actively involved in various school, church, and community events - yet, the one activity that he called his own was Cub Scouts. All who know him would know they would find Miles there standing tall and proud, waiting for them with a wide and playful smile and kind and honest eyes, hoping to lend a hand and socialize with everyone who was lucky enough then to come his way.
Throughout his eight years of life, Miles grew from timidity - hidden behind his parents and unwilling to utter a word - to bravery - bearing the stages of life: white-water rafter, rock-climber, mutton-buster, snowboarder, small-wave surfer; yet, the one thing that he never outgrew was his ability to create with his hands. His room is a small museum of large-scale, intricately-designed Lego creations: planets, satellites, spacecrafts, cities, automobiles, and people - truly, it is the 3-D Lego Movie in 4-D. He also knew how to create love with his hands; in every photograph we have of him, he is holding the hand of another person or curling his hand around another person's shoulder. His life was about creating and his finest creation was love.
Miles is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene Robertson. He is survived by his brother: Cory Dixon of Argyle; sister, Macy Miller of Frisco; grandparents: Pat Robertson of Dakota City, NE, Darrel and Sue Lieber of Sioux City, IA, and William and Nancy Miller of Mt. Vernon, TX; uncles and aunts: Jill (Max) Schubauer of Gibbon, NE, Melissa Masmar of South Sioux City, NE, Craig (Sarah) Lieber of Woonsocket, SD, Michele (Robert) Taylor of Allen, TX, David (Liz) Miller of Agoura Hills, CA, and Joel (Jesse) Miller of Houston, TX; numerous cousins.
