Mildred L. Bishop Cogdell Gilbreath,90, beloved Mother and Grandmother entered Heaven's gates on May 8, 2017. She was born on September 2, 1926 to John Williams Bishop and Mary Ellen Morris Bishop.
She was married to Woodrow Cogdell and together they raised 7 sons.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 13, 2017 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Chapel, 705 N Locust St., Denton, Texas. The family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Old Alton Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by husbands Woodrow Cogdell 1982, Raymond Gilbreath 1996, sons Billy Ray Cogdell, Freddie Wayne Cogdell and Tommy Gene Cogdell, grandsons Steven Jackson Cogdell and Michael Brandon Cogdell. Brothers Merle Bishop, Bill Bishop, WO "Duppy" Bishop and Grady Bishop. Sister's Jessie "Buggy" Jennings, Dee "Auntie Dee" Winkle and Daughter in-law Norma Cogdell.
Mildred is survived by her sons Danny Cogdell and wife Sue, Jack Cogdell, Buford Cogdell and Larry Cogdell of Denton, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A lifelong Denton resident Mildred faithfully attended College View Baptist Church, McKinney St. Baptist Church and Grace Point Baptist Church. She worked for many years at the Denton State School and Flow Memorial Hospital as a caregiver. She enjoyed sports and enjoyed watching Texas Ranger's Baseball.
Mildred's greatest treasure would be her family and the joy that they brought. Her Grace, Compassion, Prayers and unconditional love was a gift she shared freely.Funeral Service
