Michael Jo "Mike" Yount, 64, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 19, 2015. Mike was born in Denton, TX on October 27, 1950 to Billy Jo and Johnnie Yount.
A life-long resident of Denton, Mike graduated from Denton High School in 1969 and also attended North Texas State University. Mike married Brenda Medina in 1994. Mike worked in auto parts and loved to share his passion for classic cars, hot rods, and drag racing. A man of immense curiosity, knowledge and varied interest (be it automotive, locomotive, historical, or musical) he was possessed of a unique, quirky sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of twenty one years, Brenda Medina of Denton, and their daughter Meghan Amber. Other survivors are his brother, Steve Yount and wife Karen of Denton, sisters Anita Carty and husband James of Denton, and Karen Amberson and husband Rob of Sanger ; sons, Michael Jo Yount Jr., Joey Medina and wife Megan of Providence Village, daughters, Brendee Olmsted and husband David of Rowlett, Christina Medina , and Cassandra Medina both of Denton, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves behind an extended family of friends and acquaintances.
He was preceded in death by his father Billy Jo Yount.
A memorial will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2pm at Towne North Baptist Church 526 Hercules Ln. Denton, TX 76209
