Michael D. Smith, 67, of Denton, died Sunday July 15, 2007 at Kindred Hospital in Fort Worth. He was born August 20, 1939 in Denton to Charles and Evelyn P. (Schleinat) Smith. He served for twenty years in the U. S. Navy and also retired from the U. S. Post Office as a Carrier at Sanger. He was married to Clara McNeil on February 4, 1982 in Denton, and is a member of the Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, with Rev. William McNeil officiating. Burial will follow in the Sanger Cemetery with full Military Honors. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 17, 2007.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Clara Smith, of Denton, daughters, Beth Works, of Denton, Theresa Salter, of Millsap, Kathy Kobylenski, of Oklahoma City, OK Cindy Hellums, of Denton, and Tammy Smith of Phoenix, AZ Sons, Sean Smith of Denton, Chris Smith, of Phoenix, AZ and Shannon Smith of West Bend, Wisconsin a Sister, Sandra Dotson, of Denton. Nineteen Grandchildren and Fifteen Great Grandchildren.
