Michael Eugene Bishop, 60, of Denton, died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, after a number of years battling several illnesses.
Mr. Bishop was born on December 5, 1956 in Houston to Jesse Frank and Martha Gene (Maroney) Bishop. He attended Texas A & M University and The University of North Texas, where he earned a Bachelor's degree.  God blessed Michael with an amazing sense of humor!  Many family members and friends have been lifted up and encouraged by this humor and his laughter.  He loved music, playing the piano and was an amazing cook.   His many talents led him down varied career paths.  Some of those careers included a gate agent at American Airlines, working as an accountant and an agent in international travel. Michael also had a passion for traveling and loved destinations which included sand, sun and water.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Bishop of Denton; sister and brother-in-law Dr. Charles and Susan Holloway of Krugerville; a niece and her husband, Brian and Megan Rhoades of Burleson.  He is also survived by many cherished family members and friends.
At the request of his mother, a private memorial with extended family will be scheduled for a later date.
