A memorial service for Merle F. McBee will be held at 11:30 AM Monday June 18, 2007 at McKinney Street Baptist Church. Bro. Bill Black will officiate the service.

Mrs. McBee was born in 1923 in Jacksonville, Texas to A.N. and Mady (Barnes) Barber. She attended Lon Morris College and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a teaching degree. In 1944, she married James McBee in Houston.

She is preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, James McBee (he died in 2000).

Survivors include her daughter, Karen McBee of Lufkin; brother, John Barber; niece, Helen Wade; nephew, John Barber, Jr. of Jacksonville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the charity of your choice or to Lon Morris Endowment Fund, Attn: Development Lon Morris College, 806 College Ave., Jacksonville, TX 75766 indicating in memory of Merle McBee.
