Maxine Myers, 85, of Denton, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Atrium Medical Center in Corinth.
Maxine was born on October 18, 1927 in Longstreet, LA to William Gordon and Minnie (Hortman) Malone. She was married to Francis "Bud" Myers, Jr. on January 3, 1947 in Henderson, TX; he died on May 26, 2012. She was a member of the Green Valley Baptist Church. She was retired from Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the Denton Independent School District.
Maxine is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hall and her husband Bobby of Newcastle, Sherry Mulkey and her husband Joe of Krugerville; nine grandchildren, Judi, Barri, Crystal, Johnny, Marion, Phillip, Edward, Patricia, Michelle; thirteen great grandchildren, Sam, Kaitlyn, Penelope, Leo, Brandi, Johnny, Joey, Chyenne, Kyla, Dakota, Michela, DeEllen, Jordon; one great-great granddaughter, Chenille. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Bud Myers; daughters, Saleta Ann Miller, Mary Marie Myers; one sister and six brothers.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 24, 2012 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Rev. Ronnie Allen will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Cooper Creek Cemetery in Denton.
