Maurine Hood, 91 years young, and a lifelong resident of Lewisville, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009, in Lewisville.

She was born January 27, 1918 in Lewisville to William McDaniel and Nancy Brady McDaniel. Maurine married Truman Hood on July 13, 1935 in Lewisville. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1961. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lewisville for 79 years, and was a member of MAGIC (Most Active Group in Church), the Lewisville Order of Eastern Star, the Modern Housewives Club, and the Lewisville Retired Teachers Association. Maurine retired from the Lewisville Independent School District in 1980 as a dietician.

She is survived by her son, Don Hood and wife Joy of Canton, Texas; daughter, Cathy Hood of Lewisville; grandchildren, Brian Hood, Sherri Malone, and Kristi Rhoten; great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Landry and Emory. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Keith Hood on March 7, 1999, by a granddaughter, Terri Hood on January 15, 1989, and brothers, Lindsey, Homer and Claude McDaniel.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Lewisville. Interment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville.
