Mattie Earleen Lowery, 88, of Denton, TX went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 4, 2018. She was born August 5, 1929 near Lepanto, AR to Claude Newton and Margaret Newton McFarling. While attending Memphis State College she met the love of her life, Thomas Newton Lowery. They were married on June 26, 1950.

Earleen was a devoted wife and mother. Her love of cooking and crafting was enjoyed by many. She was a member of Southmont Baptist Church where her cooking skills were put to good use for various activities.

Earleen was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Tom Lowery and her son, Timothy M. Lowery. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Scheibmeir of Garnett, KS; son Thomas Lowery Jr. of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Timothy M. Lowery Jr of Denton,TX; Charlotte Lutz and Sandra Rugg of Garnett, KS and six great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Mulkey Bowles Montgomery Funeral Home from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 8 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton.
