Mary Elizabeth Venable, 92, of Denton, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Mrs. Venable was born on August 7, 1920 in Little Elm to Robert Andy and Clara Rae (McDaniel) Beale. She was married to Horace Jennings Venable, Jr. on August 30, 1941 in Navo. She graduated from Denton High School and worked for many years for Russells' Department Store, J.C. Penny's and the University of North Texas. She was a member of the Elm Ridge United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana Forson and her husband Barry of Denton, Debra Townzen and her husband Robert of Haltom City; son, H.J. "Skip" Venable and his wife Kim of Morrison, CO; grandchildren, Tracy Land, Russell Forson, Brett Forson, Darian Corona, Jessica Horton; seven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Venable, Jr.; sister, Irene Turner, grandchildren, Karey Venable, Tory Avants and great granddaughter, Samantha Venable.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 4, 2013 at Little Elm Cemetery. Rev. Buddy Owens will officiate the service. Honorary pallbearers will be: Russell Forson, Brett Forson, Michael Corona, T.J. Vowell-Zundel, Trey Spencer.
