Mary Helen Simbeck, age 80, of Denton, Texas, died on July 31st 2018 at her home in Denton, Texas surrounded by her family. Mary was born January 24, 1938, in Selma, California. She was a beautician, and she later became an educator. She retired from Denton ISD in 2003, after 20 years of service. She spent a lot of her retirement enjoying time with her family, cooking, and socializing with many others. She will be remembered by many for her spirited personality, her creativity, and her warmth. She had a way of brightening up any situation. Her selfless nature was evident to all that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother Gracia Olmos Hernandez; her father Jose Andres Hernandez; and her husband Edmund John Simbeck. She is survived by sons: Edmund John Simbeck, Jr. of Lewisville Texas; Thomas Anthony Simbeck of Denton Texas; Daughters: Mary Annette Mata of Denton Texas; Margaret Elizabeth Orr of Dallas Texas; Deborah Renee Jimenez of Denton Texas; brothers Mario Hernandez and Federico Hernandez; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Mulkey Bowles Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton Texas. A Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Monday August 6, 2018 at 4:00 PM.
