Mary Louise Roye Ramsey went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2015 in Denton. She was born January 5, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant, TX to Russell and Grace Hays. She married Rev. Mack L. Roye while attending East Texas Baptist University, Marshall, TX in 1949. After completing their education, they served in various churches in Texas, Alaska, Washington, and California until his death in 1985.
She married Charles M. Ramsey in 1986 and made Denton their home since 1994. She was preceded in death by Charles in 2004.
Louise devoted over 30 years of ministry to international college students; teaching English and bible and Sunday school at the First Baptist Church in Denton.
She is survived by four children; one daughter, Lynne and husband Robert Saylor of Waco; sons, David and wife Lois Roye of Denton, Dan and Jana Roye of Blue Springs, MO and Mark and wife Susie Roye of San Antonio; grandchildren, Tawne Saylor Owen, of Waco, Victoria Saylor Queen of Haltom City, Caleb, Levi, Easton and Gabriel Roye, Blue Springs, MO, Jordan, Ashley, Emiley, Bonnie Roye of San Antonio and Amber Roye Harborsky of Merietta, GA; three step children, Brenda Phillips of Coppell, Linda Slater of Dallas, David Ramsey of Dallas; step grandchildren, Cody and Casey Phillips of Coppell, and Timothy Saylor of Frisco; three great grandchildren, Austin, Madison and Preston Ausley of Waco.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the funeral service time at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St., Denton. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the International Ministries and Building Fund at First Baptist Church in Denton.
