Mary Elizabeth Leavell, 85, of Denton passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday February 21, 2017. Mary was born in Rosebud, TX on January 25, 1932 the daughter of James W. Jackson and Helen C. Connell Jackson. Mary was retired from the Denton State School as a Nursing supervisor.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband John Carlton Leavell Jr. and her daughter Ann Kerr. She is survived by her two daughters Shirley Kay Mason and Nancy Elizabeth Muennink both of Denton; two sons Johnny Leavell of Denton and Randy Leavell and wife Cheri also of Denton; one sister Hazel Lunquist of Bythe, CA and brother Wayne Jackson and wife Norma of Denton; 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 25, 2017 at 10:00am in the Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home chapel with Pamela Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park Denton, TX. A visitation is planned for Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
