Mary Sue "Gran" Martin Huffman, 91, of Denton, died Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Autumn Leaves in Denton.
Mrs. Huffman was born on June 24, 1925 in Eureka Springs, AR and the Ozark Mountains were her "playground". She was married to Marvin L. Huffman, Sr. Mary and Marvin (deceased) had three children: Marvin, Jr. and wife Frances of Denton, TX, Kenneth and wife Judy (deceased) of Oklahoma City, OK, Cathy and husband Bob Peel of Oklahoma City, OK. The light of her life was her grandchildren: Angela Smith of Virginia Beach, VA, James Huffman of Broken Arrow, OK, Jeff Huffman of Rogers, AR, Jennifer Ferguson of Oklahoma City, OK, Tony Meyer of Stillwater, OK, Kim McDaniel of Oklahoma City, OK; great grandchildren, Michael Smith of Seattle, WA, Nathan Smith of Maryland, Denali and Winter Huffman of Broken Arrow, OK, Tracie and Rachel Rogers, AR, Jason McDaniel of Oklahoma City, OK, Delaney, Charlie and Ivy of Stillwater, OK, Jennifer's two children, Spencer and Emily of Oklahoma City, OK; one great-great granddaughter, Ellie.
Mary worked at Wilson's Meat Packing Plant in Oklahoma City, OK for thirty-five years. After retirement her work did not end! She loved baby sitting her "Grans" and helping her elderly friends and neighbors by fixing food, running errands, and helping in various ways. Mary put family before herself. Mary will be missed by all those who knew her. Mary moved to Denton, TX in 1990 and continued her "work" by helping others. She lived by the "Golden Rule", do unto others as you would have them do unto you. We all miss you Mary!
A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Sherman Drive Church of Christ in Denton, TX. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.
