Mary Sue Edwards Allinson, 72, died at her beloved Hickory Hill Farm on April 11. Born August 10, 1932 in Dallas to William C. (Bill) and Sibyl Edwards, she attended Bradfield Elementary, and graduated The Hockaday School in 1949, and the University of Texas at Austin in 1953. Throughout her life, Mary Sue was involved with numerous charitable organizations and took great pleasure in helping others. She was a long-time supporter of the Maureen Connally Brinker Tennis Foundation and the Virginia Slims of Dallas, and an avid and talented bookbinder. A life-long competative horsewoman, she rode saddlebreds, played polo, participated in dressage, three-day eventing and fox hunting, and served for many years as the Master of Foxhounds for The Hickory Creek Hunt.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband John Burchell Allinson, she is survived by her husband Mark Friedberger, daughter Kelley Allison Murrell and husband John of Dallas, daughter Margaret Laycock of Austin, and son John Burchell Allinson, Jr. and wife, Lynn of Crawford, TX and grandchhildren Mary Margaret and Andrew Key Laycock and Shelby Stratton and John Burchelle Allinson, III
The family will host a memorial service at Hickory Hill Farm at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, April 13, 2005. The family request that in lieu of flowers donaations be made to the chariity of your choice.
