In loving memory of Mary Carlton Cook, of Dallas, Texas, who passed away on October 10, 2019. Mary was born in Burleson, Texas on July 24, 1932. The family later moved to Denton, Texas where she lived until she moved to Dallas in 1950. She met and married Cotton Cook in 1952 until his death in 1982. Mary had many talents including dress making, landscaping, home repairs and home decorating. She lived in her house on Blake Avenue for 63 years. It was her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cotton Cook; her sister, Eloise Carlton; three brothers, Alvin Carlton, Glen Carlton and Billy Carlton; her mother, Lillian Sweatmon Carlton and her father Louis Albert Carlton.
Mary is survived by her brother, Don Carlton; two sons, Jim Cook and Eddie Cook and a daughter, Annette Swaggerty; daughters in law, Carla Cook and Connie Cook; son in law, Mickey Swaggerty; grandchildren, Randy Cook, Aimee Bailey, Stephanie Cook, Jacob Cook, Ben Swaggerty, Kelly Swaggerty, Ron McGrath, Mathew McGrath and Lina McGrath; great-grandchildren, Abbey Stevenson, Ethan Bailey, Thomas Bailey, Joshua Bailey and Simon Bailey; nieces and nephews, Pam Davis, Jerry Barlow, Vick Barlow, Donna Bridges, Teresa Stull, Donnie Carlton, Tommy Carlton, Louis Carlton, Rick Carlton & David Carlton.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2019 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home with visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 with Jerry Barlow officiating. Interment will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Denton, Texas.
