Obituary

Mary Neill Cochran died peacefully on May 21, 2024, at the age of 90, after a recurrence of cancer.

Mary was born in Winters, Texas, in 1933 to H.P. and Mozelle Neill.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe R. Cochran, Jr.; second husband Bill Schlottmann; and her siblings Margie Forrest and Lynn Neill.  She is survived by her children:  son Wes Cochran and wife Glenda; daughter Paula Flowerday and husband Scott; and daughter Julie Parker and husband Paul.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Brandon Cochran and wife Casidi; Joseph Cochran and wife Scarlett; Robbie Carter; Paul Carter and wife Whitney; Bryan Parker; Mary Salaz and husband Taylor; and David Parker and wife Jeni; nine great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

A Presbyterian preacher's wife for many years, Mary had a deep faith in God and lived that faith every day.  She was a loving and compassionate woman who appreciated the value of all people and all life's experiences, even the difficult and painful ones.  She gave love to those in her life and in return, she was loved by many.  She will be missed.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Chapel at Good Samaritan Denton Village, 2500 Hinkle Drive, Denton, Texas, with a reception following.  In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made in Mary's name to Presbyterian Mo Ranch Assembly, 2229 FM 1340, Hunt, Texas 78024-3037 or to a charity of your choice.
