Mary Joe Berryman, 99, of Denton passed away on September 15, 2017 at the Vintage Health Care Center. Mary Joe was born September 26, 1917 in rural Hale County, Texas to Ben and Mary Wood. She was a homemaker and worked as a receptionist for a doctor in Colorado. She was consummate hostess, an excellent cook, and threw spectacular dinner parties.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Berryman; son, Edward J. Berryman; mother Mary Barton Wood; father Ben P. Wood; brother Ben Wood. Mary Joe is survived by her daughter in law Barbara Berryman of Ponder, TX, and 4 grandchildren, Randy Berryman and wife Dana of Calif., Candace Carmichel and husband Chris, Curt Berryman and Thomas May of Germany, Chris Clonts Berryman and Kyle of Arizona, 2 step grandchildren; Rodney Brown of Lubbock, Stacy Schertz and husband Kris of Anna, 12 great grandchildren; Anthony, Sara, Samantha, Nick, Colton, Madison, Taylor, Moab, Wyatt, Addie, Amelia, Coyote, 5 step great grandchildren; Rhett, Cole, Landen, Lydia and Logan.
