Obituary

Martha Joy Raulston, more commonly known as "Mom", "Granny" and "GG", 87, died Friday, January 22, 2021 at her home in Justin, Texas from health related complications.

She leaves behind her daughter, Deborah Malloy and husband John; son Roger Raulston; daughter Diane Raulston; son John McDonald and wife Tammy; son Allen Raulston and wife Donna; son Michael Raulston and wife Amy; nine grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other distant relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Billy Raulston in 2012, parents Meryl and Otis Lansford, brothers Charles and Robert (Bobby) Lansford, sisters Donna Combest and Anita (Deets) Lansford, children Barbara Paddack and Timothy McDonald and son-in-law Kenneth Paddack.

She was born just after the Great Depression on January 06, 1934, in Post, Texas. She had a great memory and told stories of her ancestors from Arkansas who owned a plantation before the Civil War. She told of them traveling to Texas in covered wagons and living in tent cities. Her family settled in Odessa, Texas where she lived until she was a young adult. From there, she moved to Ft.Worth and lived the rest of her life primarily around the North Texas area.

She never met a stranger, was funny, loving and smart. She was an avid reader and could answer any question asked, or knew how to find the answer, well before Google came along. In her younger years she loved camping, fishing, arrowhead hunting, sewing, crafting and was an accomplished artist. She also loved football and cooking - her homemade yeast hot rolls will never be topped.

She lived the last few years comfortably with her grand-daughter, Donita Haynes who lovingly and selflessly helped care for her. She was loved dearly by family and friends and will be missed greatly.

A "Celebration of Life" memorial will be determined at a later date.
