Marjorie Hart Willis, 98, passed away peacefully in Denton on February 7, 2016. Marjorie was born in Little Elm, Texas on September 11, 1917, the daughter of Silas Alexander "Jack" Hart and Lucy Belle Clark Hart.
Marjorie graduated from Denton High School in 1934. She went to work for GTE as a switchboard operator and worked in the engineering department before retirement. She married William Earl "Bill" Willis in 1936 in Durant, Oklahoma. She was a member of Pearl Street Church of Christ.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Smith and husband Charles Ray Smith of Denton; six grandchildren, Gina Chesnut, Cheri' Haygood, Shawn Smith, Shelli Cockburn, Mark Willis and Wendy Holbrook; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her son, Donald Lee Willis; three sisters, Martha Jo Viers, Jane Orrico and Peggy Jenkins.
Funeral services are planned for Monday, February 15, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Buddy Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. There will be a visitation on Monday at 1:00 pm until service at 2:00 pm. Donations and memorials may be made to Ann's Haven Hospice or Ardent Hospice.
