Marjorie Lee Morton Carpenter, of Murphy, formerly of Denton, died Friday, October 20, in Richardson, She was born, November 20,1919, to Rev. O.A. Morton and Jimmie Endora (Gray) Morton at Graford, Texas. She was the youngest of eight children, all of whom preceded her in death.

She was married to Rev. O. D. Carpenter in 1938, in Talpa, and they celebrated almost fifty-eight (58) years of marriage until his death on March 21, 1996.

She is survived by four children: Rev. Karen Calhoun, of San Antonio, Mary Edwards Zumwalt & husband Jack, of Murphy, Deanna Richardson and husband Ron, of Tupelo, MS and Steve Carpenter and Sean Stewart, of Richardson; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held before the service at Murphy Road Baptist Church, 401 S. Murphy Rd. Murphy, TX 75094 The Services will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, October 22 at Murphy Road Baptist Church. She will be buried, next to her husband in the Old Trinity Cemetery in Denton, Texas. Memorials may be made to the Murphy Road Baptist Church, Building Fund.
