Marjorie S. Irick-Thomas
Marjorie S. Irick-Thomas was born on June 20th, 1933 to Fred and Maude Sturdevant in Roanoke Texas. She was the third child out of what became four children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Harold and Robert Sturdevant and her sister Helen Penn, her daughter Dava Lynn Norris, her first husband David Irick and her last husband Bill Thomas.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, J. W. and Jackie Irick and a daughter Wendolyn Yeakley, three grandsons Matthew Irick and wife Brandi, David Norris, and James Michael "Sonny" Norris II and wife Danielle, four great-grandchildren, Charlotte Irick, Sophie Irick, Lynnleigh Norris and Gage Norris.
Margie grew up in Roanoke and Aubrey graduating from Pilot Point Gee High School.
She married David Irick in June of 1954. They started a family and moved to Arlington as David worked for General Motors. They were very active at Meadow Lane Baptist Church. In 1970 they moved to Denton as co-owners of Morris-Irick Woodworks.
Margie had several jobs. She worked at LTV, Teaching and finally retiring from American Airlines Cargo Division in 1995. She was last active in Gateway Baptist Church in Denton.
Margie died peacefully April 1, 2025, in Sanger.
A very special thank you to Tonya Adams and all the staff at the Sanger House Assisted Living for all the love and care they showed Margie in the last eight years and the staff of Concho Hearts Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, April 7, 2025 at Belew Cemetery, Aubrey, TX.
