Marilynn Irene Allison Smith, 78, of Tioga TX passed May 20, 2024 in the comfort of her home with her family.

Marilynn was born in Harrisburg PA on July 26, 1945 to Eugene & Ruth Marilynn Irene Allison. She and her siblings Carolyn, Janice, and William lead an adventurous childhood. The Air Force had them moving frequently all over the US, and even to the Philippines. Her wanderlust only increased as she grew older. She married her high school sweetheart, Raul "Pete" Smith on April 2, 1966 and continued her slightly nomadic lifestyle as a US Army wife. What places in the US and the world she did not live in, she made a point to visit. Her love of travel, especially cruising, has been a legacy that she leaves behind for her children and grandchildren to continue.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother William. Survived by her loving best friend and husband Pete, her daughter Marian (Carlton) Ellis, her son Brian (Amanda) Smith, and the three loves of her life, her granddaughters Lisa Irene Smith, Elizabeth Marilynn Irene Ellis, and Jessica Ann Smith.

She was a passionate individual who, in her spare time, loved to read, travel, shop, and cook. She has taken a part of each of her passions and made sure to pass on to specific children and their spouses, as well as her grandchildren, so her legacy will continue.

Her avocation was that in health care, as a registered nurse. Over 45 years in various nursing roles, she found her greatest passion in neonates. She received her Neonatal Care Specialty Certification in 1991 and worked with these precious babies until 2010. Interment and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date (Shiloh Church of Tioga and National Cemetery).
