Marie Elizabeth (McDonald) Harrell, 93, of Denton, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Bellaire Assisted Living.  She was born July 13, 1930 to William Perry "Will" McDonald and Mary Adelaide "Addie" (Micheals) McDonald in Weatherford, Texas.  Around 1934 her family moved to Argyle, Texas where she grew up and attended North Texas School.  Marie married the love of her life, Billy Joe Harrell, on August 24, 1946 in Denton.  They had two children together, David Joe Harrell and Joyce Marie (Harrell) Bellar.

Marie worked for several years at the Whitson Food Company.  She enjoyed a variety of hobbies including gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting and genealogy.  In 1987 she joined into the partnership of At Your Service Sitting Service, one of the first in home care agencies to provide services to the elderly in Denton County.  Marie continued in the elderly care business establishing All Our Hearts Sitting Service as a sole proprietor until 2020, providing services for over 30 years.

Marie was a Christian who loved the Lord, was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church Denton, Texas and served as a Sunday School teacher there for 48 years.  She touched many lives through her faithful years of service.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy Joe Harrell, son, David Joe Harrell, brother, Joe McDonald, sisters Ruby Brasier, Minnie Hunter and Winnie Bragg. She is survived by one brother, George McDonald (Sylvia) of Krum, daughter Joyce Bellar of Lake Dallas, granddaughter Deirdre Coleman (Scott) of Hewitt, grandson Jason Bellar (Rhonda) of Sikeston, Missouri, and granddaughter Jennifer Coles (Larry) of Abilene, great grandchildren Joseph, Clayton, Lauren, Riley and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to her in-home caregivers Sharon Mosely and Patricia Joann Mims. In addition, special thanks to Bellaire Assisted Living and Trio Hospice for their caring compassion shown to our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
