Margueritte K. Parker, 89, of Denton, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Mrs. Parker was born on July 25, 1923 in Denton to James F. (Sr.) and Ruby Beatrice (Lowe) Pannell. She was married to Ted R. Parker on November 4, 1943 in Denton, he died on June 4, 2001. She retired in 1979 from GTE after 32 years of service as an Assistant Traffic Supervisor. She was very active in her membership at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed arts and crafts, traveling, caring for her two dachshunds, and was a past president of the Noon Business and Professional Club.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, August 24, 2012 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Old Alton Cemetery, Denton. Rev. John Lindsay will officiate the service.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her grandsons, Jeffrey Parker and his wife Kathy of Houston and Joel Parker and his wife Shana of Houston; sisters, Nellie Morales of Denton and Claudine Bicknell of Euless; brother, Melvin Pannell of Denton; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Briana, Katie, Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Ted Parker, who died on December 27, 2009.
