Ruth Scott, 68 of Slidell, died Sunday, August 14, 2005 at her residence. She was born December 28, 1936 in Burns City, Cooke County, TX to Walter M. and Lois (Bollanger) Ward. She was married to James Ray Scott in Sherman, on October 4, 1960. She was a Cashier for Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store on East McKinney St. in Denton. She was an active Bowler. She attended school in Callisburg.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 19, 2005 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Chuck Pierce, officiating. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 18. Memorials to American Hospice, 1410 N. Elm, Denton, TX 76201 Flowers sent are requested to be either Silk, or Plants.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, James R. Scott, of Slidell, two daughters Janet Hill and Sherry Scott, of Slidell, and three sons, Keith Scott, of Arlington, Wash Lesley Dolph, of Slidell, and Rick Dolph, of Keller, one sister, Lillie Glenn, of Gainesville, and three brothers, Rachel Ward, of Gainesville, Ray Ward, of Saint Jo, and Wayne Ward, of San Mateo, FL fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Dolph, her parents, and two brothers, Matt and Jesse Ward.
