Margaret Lucille
Webster
April 24, 1922 – February 14, 2018
Margaret Lucille Webster, 95, was born April 24, 1922 in Clovis, New Mexico to Robert Clever Edgell and Helen Hodges Edgell. She was the youngest of 5 children, two brothers, R. C. Edgell, Baldwin Edgell, two sisters, Maureen Pederson and Roberta Wing, all who preceded her in their homegoing. She attended the Bible Institute of Los Angeles in 1939-40.
She married Loye Eugine Webster of Quanah, Texas on June 13, 1941 in Los Angeles, California. They are survived by their children, Caroline Miller of Denton, Alan Webster and wife, Carol Ann of Lake Worth, Kenny Webster and wife, Kay of Athens TX, and Peggy Curtis and her husband Ken of Conifer, Colorado, 4 grandsons: Cecil Miller of Denton, Skip Shelton of Athens, Zach Webster of Athens, Joel Curtis of Washington; 2 granddaughters: Donna Lewis of Wylie TX., Polly Williams of Athens (another granddaughter, Stephanie Priel, of Van, TX. She went home to be with the Lord last year), 7 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons, several nieces and nephews.
Margaret and her husband Loye were members of First Baptist Church of Ponder for over 60 years. After retirement, they worked with the Texas Baptist Men for 19 years, building churches all over the United States and Canada. Margaret taught the Bible in Sunday school many years, sang in the choir at church, and directed various choirs while with TBM. She had a beautiful, strong, singing voice and loved using it to glorify her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was fluent in Spanish and enjoyed quoting the Bible and sharing the gospel in Spanish at every opportunity. After having lived in Ponder, TX for over 60 years, she moved to Athens TX, to live with her son, Kenny and his wife in 2011, where she lived until February 14, 2018.
Margaret was loved dearly by all who knew her and was a blessing to all those with whom she came in contact.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.at First Baptist Church of Ponder with Dr. Kim Broadstreet and Dr. Rick Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Eakins Cemetery in Ponder. A visitation will take place at the church beginning at 2:00 p.m.
