Obituary

Margaret Louise Snider of Argyle, age 87, went to live forever with God on October 27. 2010. She was born in Little Elm, Texas on April 12. 1923 to Monroe and Mamie (Gammon) Selby. She graduated from Denton High School and attended one year at UNT. She then attended secretarial school and worked as a legal secretary at General Dynamics during World War II. She met her future husband T. Gerald Snider, Jr. when they both worked for Morrison Milling Co in Denton, she as a secretary and he in the mill. They married in 1947 and together raised 6 children. During that time, Margaret operated a typing service from home for students at UNT and TWU. She especially enjoyed the foreign students and made many friendships with the Africa and Asia students who depended on her for help with their English spelling and grammar. This was long before spellcheck! During the 1970's, Margaret was the manager of the faculty copy center at UNT. In her later years, she enjoyed her work as an RSVP volunteer in the District Attorney's office at the Denton County Courthouse. Her hobby and passion was crocheting baby blankets, afghans and rugs as gifts for family and friends. She was a devout Christian and loved the Lord.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Enid Snider of Paris, TX and Sherrill N. Niederer (and husband Don) of Argyle; her sons Tim Snider of Argyle, Dr. Ron Snider (and wife Marianela) of Albany, GA, and Tony Snider (and wife Beth) of Wylie. She leaves a legacy of 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Charles Selby of Denton and sister Judy Crider of Liberty. She was preceded in death by son, Randy Snider, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
