Margaret Charline Briggs, nee Neds, 94, of Denton, TX passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026 at Denton Golden Meadows Care where she had been a long time resident.

Born on February 18,1932 to Adrian Neds and Charline Walker Neds, Margaret grew up in Westerville, Ohio and graduated from Olentangy Schools. She went on to earn a degree in Education from The Ohio State University on August 28, 1953.

On August 30, 1953, she married Bruce Eugene Briggs and together they raised three sons and shared 53 years of marriage. As a wife of a U.S. Army officer and American Airlines captain, Margaret refined the art of relocation to various locations in Germany, Ohio, Illinois, Oklahoma and Texas.

While in Ohio, Margaret taught 4th grade for two years. Once in Texas, she was able to explore her passions for quilting and painting. She was a founding member of the Denton Quilt Guild and took many university art classes to refine her painting skills. She put her teaching skills to use as a volunteer in Denton ISD schools. She loved to travel and visit art museums.

Margaret is survived by her cherished sons, Gordon (Diane), Jeffrey (Karen), and Paul (Connie), her four precious grandchildren Paige Briggs Watson (Cory), Hannah Briggs, Christopher Briggs, Alexander Briggs, her beloved great-grandson Knox Watson and several dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her love, Bruce and her siblings Ellen Neds, Sally Haxton, and Eugene Neds.

Visitation will be at 9:30am on Saturday 9/12/26 at Mulkey-Bowles Montgomery Funeral Home 705 N. Locust, Denton, TX. A funeral service will follow at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity.
