Marcella Joan Kersey Owen, 83, passed away May 27, 2015 after a five year battle with cancer. She was a long-term resident of Denton,Texas.
Joan was born December 9, 1931 in Alta Vista, Kansas. She graduated from high school in Madill, OK. She was an active member of Gateway United Baptist Church in Denton, TX. She worked for J.C. Penny's in Denton before retirement. She loved to travel with family and friends expecially to beaches. She dedicated her life to being a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved God and served Him faithfully throughout her life. She was married to her eternal love, Wade for 55 years.

Sister: Darlene June Kersey Carter (Euless, TX)
Grandchildren: Stephanie Gonzales (Krum, TX), Brent Fangman (Little Rock, AK), Adam Fangman (Gainesville, TX), Kolton Gebert (Flower Mound, TX), Korey Gebert (Flower Mound, TX), Kody Gebert (Flower Mound, TX), Jennifer Ciccarello (Flower Mound, TX), Steven Owen (San Antonio, TX), Greg Owen( Hurst, TX)
Great Grandchildren: Iliana Gonzales, Kaiden Fangman, Ethan Ciccerello, Ava Ciccarello, and Myla Owen
Preceeded in death by Lottie Kahle Kersey (mother), Owen Robert Kersey (father), Loretta Fern Kersey Robinson (sister), Virgil Robert Kersy (brother)
Funeral services will be held at Gateway Baptist Church, 2401 N. Bell Ave., Denton, TX on Saturday, May 30th at 11:00am. Graveside services will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will also be held at Gateway Baptist Church on Friday May 29th 6-8pm.
