Maggie Joe Rutherford was born Maggie Joe Justice on September 1 ^st 1928.  She made her mark on the small town of her birth, Richland Springs Texas, until her she met her soulmate.  Evans A. Rutherford took her hand in marriage and they began a new life together and finally settled down in Denton Texas.  They raised 4 wonderful children: Everett, Maxine, Loretta Kay and Delbert Wayne.
They were blessed with 35 years of marriage until he passed in 1980.  She never married again, but continued an occupation as a seamstress. Nothing brought her as much joy as making friends and family home made quilts.  She poured her love into every one of those beautifully stitched quilts.
She was taken to our father in heaven on April 4, 2018.  She is currently survived by her four children, eight beautiful grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.  She will be missed for her drive and candor that always made us smile.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2018 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Denton. Pastor Billy Echols-Richter will officiate the service
