Obituary

Ludmila "Luda" Alekseevna Vance, 62, of Denton, died Thursday, October 15, 2020 at her home in Denton.

Mrs. Vance was born on November 20, 1957 in Donetsk, Ukraine to Alexey Kharitonov and Nina Kharitonova. She was married to Don James Vance of Denton, TX on March 7, 1998 in Raduzhny, Russia.

She was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church. Luda worked as a chemical analyst in the petroleum industry in Raduzhny, Russia, before moving to the United States in 1998. She had been so many places around the world, a true lover of travel. If you knew her, you'd know she loved animals and being around people; listening to music and dancing. She was the life of the party. Luda enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, cooking, camping, and gardening. She volunteered with the Science Research team at the University of North Texas.

Luda, otherwise known as Baba by her grandkids, loved to play pranks; you never knew when she might strike again. She had a huge heart with so much love to share. Always wanting more for others than for herself. Baba will be incredibly missed.

Luda is survived by her husband, Don Vance of Denton; sons, John Vance (Monica) of Corinth, & Dmitri Ivanov (Vasilisa) of Canada; sister, Svetlana, brother, Alexey of Samara, Russian; & grandchildren Alexey, Alina, Artem, and Mila
