Lucy Irene Barber, 98, of Denton, died Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Carriage House Assisted Living in Denton.
Mrs. Barber was born on October 9, 1919 in Lewisville, TX to Charles B. and Mary Lee (Young) Malone. She was married to Leroy Barber on May 16, 1935 in Lewisville; he died on March 2, 2006. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the service time at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Central Baptist Church, 2221 N. Carroll Blvd., Denton. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Barber is survived by her daughter, Joyce Brearley and her husband Donald of Denton; son, Don Barber and his wife Claudene of Denton; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; five sisters; two brothers, husband; son, Dennis Barber.
