Obituary

Loyd Brown of Argyle passed away on February 13, 2021.

Loyd was born May 17, 1943 in Fort Worth to Ruth and George Brown.  The family soon moved back to Paducah Texas where Loyd had many fond memories of growing up.  Loyd graduated from Paducah High School in 1962.  He always looked forward to the PHS school reunions where he could see old friends.

Loyd served in the US Army from 1964-1967.  He married his wife Carolyn on October 11, 1974.  Loyd worked for Bell Helicopter, Perkins Construction and Campbell 66 Trucking before starting his own successful business in 1985.  Loyd owned Brown Drilling for 33 years where many of his customers became good friends.

Loyd enjoyed watching the Cowboys and golf on the weekends, and the occasional trip to the casino with friends and family to play the slots.  Loyd and Carolyn had traveled to almost every state over the years but some of his fondest memories were traveling to California yearly with Carolyn  and enjoying sunsets on the pier in San Clemente after eating at their favorite restaurant.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and George Brown, sisters Barbara Hutchinson and Kay Turnell, brothers Tommy Brown and twin brother Floyd Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Carolyn, sons George Brown, Gary Brown and wife Anita and Jason Brown.
